Baldwin County Education Coalition sponsors Golf Classic

FAIRHOPE, Alabama -- Baldwin County Sewer Service will present the Baldwin County Education Coalition?s first ever major fundraising event: the Baldwin County Education Coalition Golf Classic. The event will be held Sept. 12, at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope at 11:30 a.m.

?Thanks to our Title Sponsor, Baldwin County Sewer Service, this event offers a fun way to support education throughout Baldwin County public schools,? explained Terry Burkle, Executive Director. ?This summer, our organization has reached some key milestones, such as a contract with the Baldwin County Board of Education to implement a Partners in Education program connecting schools with area businesses, our first paid staff, and now our first fundraiser. All these efforts will have a tremendous impact on the quality of education in our County.?

The four-man scramble amateur event features chances for large prizes including: a Hole-In-One chance to win a $30,000 Boat (sponsored by Sportsman?s Marine), Split the Pot Ball Drop for a chance to win $5,000, and prizes for first, second and third place team finishers. In another interesting twist, Corporate Sponsors will be highly visible on each tee box with a company display, and some will feature a unique challenge on that particular hole, including obstacles such as a toilet seat around the hole on the green, or a very small cup.

?We are very excited to introduce a key fundraiser for the Coalition that will help gain recognition for this commendable organization while making a significant impact throughout the whole community,? stated Jenny Williams, Baldwin County Sewer Service?s Marketing Director.?

?In any case, the tournament will be memorable and a great effort to support all of the 43 public schools in Baldwin County,? said Tournament Chairman, Education Coalition Board Member, and County Commissioner Tucker Dorsey.

Luncheon ($1,500), Corporate ($1,000) and Team Sponsorships ($600) are still available for the event, and each of the above includes four players, lunch, goody bag and many other benefits to participants. See the attached form to sign up a team or to participate as a sponsor.

Current sponsors include Baldwin County Sewer Service as the Title Sponsor, Sportsman?s Marine, Trustmark National Bank, Preble-Rish, Inc., Benchmark Homes and Gwin?s Commercial Printing.

The Baldwin County Education Coalition is an independent, non-profit, nonpartisan organization of public school advocates that works together for systemic improvements through seven local education foundations that serve communities across Baldwin?s 1,600+ square miles.?
