PR agency offers job for best tweet - mUmBRELLA

PR agency Porter Novelli is to use only Twitter to find its next Sydney staffer.

The agency is challenging a potential account exec or senior account exec to get its attention with a single tweet.

The deadline for the tweet ? with the hashtag #socialCV is this Sunday.

The recruitment process is being run by PN Social, the Omnicom agency?s social media division, with the senders of the best three tweets to meet the brief ?make us love you? being offered an interview.

Annalise Brown, managing partner at Porter Novelli, said: ?Social media now plays a role in everything we do as PR professionals, so why not use it for recruitment? It?s difficult to assess how social-savvy someone is in a covering letter, that?s why we?re asking candidates for a practical demonstration of their knowledge and ability.?

Applicants are also allowed to include a link to a supporting page or site.

The top three will be announced next Thursday.

Porter Novelli is not the only employer currently running a competition to get a job using the hashtag #socialCV. Vala Afshar, chief marketing officer of Entrasys is also currently running a recruitment process using Twitter only?with the identical hashtag.

Afshar?s @SocialCV job offers ?a six figure salary?. A spokesman for Porter Novelli told Mumbrella that its #SocialCV contest is ?entry level salary at competitive market rate?.

Update: Porter Novelli asked people to also include the agency?s Twitter handle @PN_Sydney in the tweet. A spokesman explained: ?It?s mainly so that we can ensure that serious applications are coming directly to us so they don?t get filtered out in the larger conversation around the hashtag. It still offers a bit of room in the fact that you can link to a blog post, instagram, vine etc for added content.?
